Struggling Dieter vs Successful Dieter

To successfully lose weight there are 3 important things you need to do

Create a calorie deficit
Exercise regularly

And most importantly…

Be consistent!

It is really really hard to be consistent if you are on a strict diet

Normally what happens is you follow it for 1 week, 2...maybe even 3

And then you fall off the wagon and you binge ALL WEEKEND LONG

Why? Because it isn’t sustainable long-term

In order to make a lifestyle change you need to set goals which are realistic, achievable and changes you can make long-term

So, as seen in the infographic, treat yourself sometimes and you won’t fall off the wagon and binge

And if you do come off the rails for a day, let it be just that...a day

There is nothing worse than working hard and not seeing results. It’s obviously great to work hard, but I learned to work smarter as I got closer to my 30’s.

“It doesn’t matter how fast you run if you are running in place. You wont get anywhere” 


Here are three things that may have you “running in place” in regards to fitness. 


1️⃣ 𝙔𝙤𝙪 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙩𝙤𝙤 𝙢𝙪𝙘𝙝
I used to work out 6-7 days a week and went all out every workout. I got a good sweat but I never allowed my muscles to recovery. This resulted in basically looking the exact same year round.

2️⃣ 𝙔𝙤𝙪 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙙𝙤𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙠𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙥𝙡𝙖𝙣 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙩𝙤𝙤 𝙡𝙤𝙣𝙜
I am guilty of this one too. I get it. You find something you like and it worked. So why not keep doing it? We have to remember that our bodies are amazing at adapting. We have to always find ways to shock our body with progressive plans and changes in our programs. 

3️⃣  𝙔𝙤𝙪 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙛𝙪𝙚𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙗𝙤𝙙𝙮 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙥𝙚𝙧 𝙣𝙪𝙩𝙧𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣
I can not stress enough how important your diet is. You can do all the hard work you want in the gym and wont get anywhere without a commitment to nutrition. If you are not eating the proper macros you wont be able to build muscle. If you are eating too much you wont be able to lose weight. This list goes on and I highly recommended talking with a registered dietitian if you want to learn exactly what you need for your goals and health.


These are all things that I am very guilty of in the past and still catch myself on occasion out of habit. They limited me from reaching my goals for years. 

I promise if you make changes in these areas you will see improvements.

Exciting times... Last night I started my new course with @macnutrition 👌🏼

I have been considering this course and followed Martin and #MacNutritionUni for a while now, but after going to the London MacNutrition Live event a year ago (this weekend just gone actually), and 2020 giving me a heck of a nudge, I decided to do it!

This evidence based nutrition course is well respected and widely considered the best in the industry, so studying to become a MNU Certified and Insurable Nutritionist, and adding this to build on my existing qualifications, knowledge and experience, I believe will take me and my business @eattrainliveuk to the next level! 🔥

Always learning, continuously seeking to gain more qualifications and education, so I can in turn educate more people to improve their own health.

I’m so excited for this next year of learning, further developing my knowledge and gaining this awesome certification! 🙋🏼‍♀️

let's talk about mountain climbers!!
Mountain climbers are pretty much a compound exercise that works several joints and muscle groups simultaneously. Glutes, Quads, Abdominals, Hamstrings, Triceps, Shoulder muscles. Few exercises that I can think of are as efficient as this, put it to you this way, if I am in the mood of a good effective burn workout but not so much in the mood to do High Impact exercises that require me to jump- I stick to doing 3 rounds/ 30 seconds mountain climbers (followed by a rest 15 seconds). Mountain Climbers also improves our overall cardiovascular health, if we do these at an explosive pace, it will definitely shoot up out heart rate real quick! Mountain climbers also helps strengthen our core see our core muscles consist of abs, obliques, lower back, glutes and pelvic floor. These muscles help us maintain a good posture during exercise, which is key avoid injury. When we do mountain climbers, we need to switch up on those muscles to keep our hips from moving up and down or side to side therefore we are using our core to maintain that balance.

Its actually ok to not be on a diet 365 days of the year

The problem is many of us are either actively "on a diet" or thinking about the fact we should be on a diet for the majority of the year

And this could be the biggest reason you aren't seeing changes in your body consistently

Being "ON IT" is often followed by being "REEEET OFF IT" as we go too far with restrictions and don't have an action plan for after the "diet" phase...so we end up just keeping dieting or rolling up a KFC boneless banquet in a large dominos and chowing down (haven't done that honest)

So what should you do when you don't want to diet but want to see small changes or maintain where you are?

You could:
Bring up your calories to maintenance where you can stay a similar weight, have more food, more energy and mentally have a real from dieting

or

Set yourself a couple of rules that you stick to that help you not come off plan too far....for example, fasting until dinner time, only having 2 meals a day, only allowing 1 x 100 calorie snack a day etc and stick to those rules religiously

You aren't on a diet, you are just using a few simple rules to help stop you overeating and to help you actively think about your food intake more without it being a restrictive diet

Either way, you cant diet forever, results will stall, motivation will drop and you will keep yo-yoing between "on it" and "off it" forever #diettips #dieting #yoyodieting #health #healthyhabits #nutrition #results #weightloss #fatloss #eattrainlive #etl

another home workout done! feels great to do some HIIT again. I'm starting to incorporate HIIT twice a week and full body weight training 2-3 times a week. HIIT is super beneficial when it comes to burning off Fat but too much of it can bring fourth some repercussion. In a HIIT workout, we work hard and we want our exercise to make us stronger and help boost our immunity. But if we put our body through HIIT every day we’re going to end up with an opposite result. we'll suffer joint pain or get seriously injured. we would run ourselves to the ground real quick. so start off slow and at your own pace.
5 rounds/ rest 30 secs between workouts
-15 Airsquats
-20 Burpees (modified for those of us that can't jump)
-20 VUPS
-15 power snatches (eachside- start off with light weights and definitely stretch before and after!!)
