Four years ago, I wrote a version of this letter. It's sad but necessary to say it again, with sadly even more evidence. If you think that a Stoic "shouldn't get involved in politics," you're missing the fact that like half of them were literal politicians... and what you're actually mad about is that someone disagrees with you. And honestly, this election is beyond politics. Either you mean what you say about being a good person, the importance of telling the truth, of treating others well, of the law and ethics, of doing the right thing even when it's painful, or you don't. Either you're paying lip service to the Stoic virtues of courage and self-discipline and justice and wisdom, or you actually believe them and expect leaders to live up to them, too.
